Shalom and greetings,

I’m Maya- a dedicated educator with over two decades of  experience within the educational realm. My journey   has woven through the corridors of institutions like the Rashi School and JCDS, where I’ve had the privilege of nurturing young minds.

A few years back, I embarked on a transformative hiatus to embrace my most cherished roles yet- as a mother to delightful twins. Yep, twins came into my life, adding a new layer of love and chaos. But even in the midst of the adorable chaos, my passion for education didn’t miss a beat. While nurturing my twins, I found myself simultaneously nurturing my dedication to education, constantly ideating and innovating projects within the field.

And, as life unfolded, a recent addition to our family- an adorable baby brother- became an endearing project of its own.

Over the years, my educational philosophy has evolved and matured, a reflection of my multifaceted experiences, a B.A. in psychology, and an MSc. in Project and Program Management, the latter with a profound emphasis on Education. All of which recorded in the lively city of Boston.

Throughout my educational journey, I have consistently focused on prioritizing the individual student in all endeavors, regardless of their young age or educational background. I consider their strengths, weaknesses, passions, and perspectives to be of utmost importance. Not letting administrative clamor and bureaucratic nuances overshadow this personalized approach.

In my belief, the pivotal factor in cultivating a meaningful student-teacher dynamic lies in the teacher’s genuine investment in the student’s accomplishments. It’s this belief that fueled the inception of the New Hebrew Program-an initiative fostering Hebrew language acquisition through intimate group settings. These small clusters not only amplify personal connections but also ignite richer brainstorms and collaborations.

Authenticity, empathy, and positive reinforcement of learning skills constitute the cornerstone of my approach. With this compass guiding the way, I’m steadfast in my belief that every student’s linguistic inquisitiveness can be nurtured and kindled.

כבר למעלה מ-20 שנה אני עובדת בתחום החינוך וכמורה לעברית.
(בין היתר ב- JCDS, The Rashi School )

ב-2018 לקחתי הפסקה מהוראה בבית ספר על מנת לגדל את התאומים הנפלאים שלי (לא משוחדת בכלל!) אך בפועל לא הפסקתי לעסוק בתחום ועסקתי במגוון פרויקטים שונים בתחום החינוך. כולל פרויקט אישי לאחרונה של אח קטן לתאומים…

הפילוסופיה שלי כאשת חינוך התפתחה עם השנים, דרך מגוון ונסיון רב של הוראה וכן דרך תואר ראשון בפסיכולוגיה ותואר שני בניהול פרויקטים (עם דגש על חינוך). הכל בבוסטון ובסביבתה.

במהלך כל השנים תמיד נותרתי נאמנה ומחויבת קודם כל לתלמיד כאדם יחודי. בלי, קשר לגיל או לרקע שלו.ה, אלא לחוזקות ולחולשות שלו.ה, לתחומי העניין של.ה, ולצורת החשיבה שלו.ה. (mindset)

פחות לרעשי הרקע הבירוקרטיים והאדמיניסטרטיביים.

אני מאמינה שהמפתח להצלחת הקשר הבין אישי של התלמיד.ה והמורה טמון בהתעניינות כנה של המורה בתלמיד.ה עצמו.ה.

בעקבות זאת יצרתי את התוכנית החדשה לעברית.  מצע לדוברי עברית בקבוצות קטנות כדי שכל אחד ואחת מהם.ן יוכלו להתקדם, לצמוח ולפרוח. אני מאמינה שהדרך הנכונה מרכיבה אותנטיות ואמפטיה, יחד עם חיזוק חיובי של מיומניות הלמידה.  וכשהולכים בדרך זו ניתן להגיע ולגעת בכל תלמיד.ה ולהצית בו.ה את הסקרנות והנלהבות לשפה.
